He said, *What pledge will I give you?* She said, *Your signet and your cord, and your staff that is in your hand.* He gave them to her, and came in to her, and she conceived by him.


and he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had. They cried before him, *Bow the knee!* He set him over all the land of Egypt.


For Mordekhai the Jew was next to King Achashverosh, and great among the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brothers, seeking the good of his people, and speaking shalom to all his descendants.


The king took his ring from his hand, and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedata the Agagite, the Jews' enemy.


Then the king's scribes were called in on the first month, on the thirteenth day of the month; and all that Haman commanded was written to the king's satraps, and to the governors who were over every province, and to the princes of every people, to every province according its writing, and to every people in their language.
