You shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs.*
Moshe took his wife and his sons, and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. Moshe took God's rod in his hand.
He said, *Throw it on the ground.* He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moshe ran away from it.
Moshe stretched forth his rod toward the heavens, and the LORD sent thunder, hail, and lightning flashed down to the earth. The LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt.
*Ask a sign of the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.*

They said therefore to him, *What then do you do for a sign, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you do?
