Moshe went up to God, and the LORD called to him out of the mountain, saying, *This is what you shall tell the house of Ya`akov, and tell the children of Yisra'el:
The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tables.
The LORD said to Moshe, *Chisel two stone tablets like the first: and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.
At that time the LORD said to me, Hew you two tables of stone like the first, and come up to me onto the mountain, and make a teivah of wood.
So I made a teivah of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like the first, and went up onto the mountain, having the two tables in my hand.
