Pride only breeds quarrels, but with ones who take advice is wisdom.


He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.


A wrathful man stirs up contention, but one who is slow to anger appeases strife.


One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.


One who is greedy stirs up strife; but one who trusts in the LORD will prosper.


A good name is better than fine perfume; and the day of death better than the day of one's birth.


*But Avraham said, 'Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and El'azar, in like manner, bad things. But now here he is comforted and you are in anguish.


*By your endurance you will win your lives.
