So he departed there, and found Elisha the son of Shafat, who was plowing, with twelve yoke [of oxen] before him, and he with the twelfth: and Eliyahu passed over to him, and cast his mantle on him.


A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by the word of the LORD, Please strike me. The man refused to strike him.


When the sons of the prophets who were at Yericho over against him saw him, they said, The spirit of Eliyahu does rest on Elisha. They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.


The sons of the prophets who were at Beit-El came forth to Elisha, and said to him, *Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from your head today?* He said, *Yes, I know it; hold your shalom.*


The sons of the prophets who were at Yericho came near to Elisha, and said to him, *Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from your head today?* He answered, *Yes, I know it. Hold your shalom.*


Fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood over against them afar off: and they two stood by the Yarden.


Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, Set on the great pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.


The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, See now, the place where we dwell before you is too strait for us.


At that time Chanani the seer came to Asa king of Yehudah, and said to him, Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the LORD your God, therefore is the army of the king of Syria escaped out of your hand.


Yehu the son of Chanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Yehoshafat, Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate the LORD? for this thing wrath is on you from before the LORD.


Now the rest of the acts of Yehoshafat, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Yehu the son of Chanani, which is inserted in the book of the kings of Yisra'el.

The lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken. Who can but prophesy?


but he will say, 'I am no prophet, I am a tiller of the ground; for I have been made a bondservant from my youth.'


but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;


It happened, when all who knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come to the son of Kish? Is Sha'ul also among the prophets?
