David went up by the ascent of the [Mount of] Olives, and wept as he went up; and he had his head covered, and went barefoot: and all the people who were with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.


King David sent to Tzadok and to Avyatar the Kohanim, saying, Speak to the elders of Yehudah, saying, Why are you the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Yisra'el is come to the king, [to bring him] to his house.


How he entered into the house of God when Avyatar was Kohen Gadol, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the Kohanim, and gave also to those who were with him?*
