All the people of Yehudah took `Azaryah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amatzyah.
But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Yoshiyahu his son king in his place.
Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in shalom, neither shall your eyes see all the evil which I will bring on this place. They brought the king word again.
His servants carried him in a chariot to Yerushalayim, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.
After all this, when Yoshiyahu had prepared the temple, Nekho king of Egypt went up to fight against Karkemish by the Perat: and Yoshiyahu went out against him.
So his servants took him out of the chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had, and brought him to Yerushalayim; and he died, and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. All Yehudah and Yerushalayim mourned for Yoshiyahu.
Don't you weep for the dead, neither bemoan him; but weep sore for him who goes away; for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
For thus says the LORD touching Shallum the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, who reigned instead of Yoshiyahu his father, [and] who went forth out of this place: He shall not return there any more.
