David said to Yo'av, and to all the people who were with him, Tear your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Aviner. King David followed the bier.


It was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the Kohen Gadol came up, and they put up in bags and counted the money that was found in the house of the LORD.


When they had called to the king, there came out to them Elyakim the son of Chilkiyah, who was over the household, and Shevna the scribe, and Yo'ach the son of Asaf the recorder.


They said to him, Thus says Chizkiyahu, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.


Now the rest of the acts of `Uzziyah, first and last, did Yeshaiyahu the prophet, the son of Amotz, write.


The vision of Yeshaiyahu the son of Amotz, which he saw concerning Yehudah and Yerushalayim, in the days of `Uzziyah, Yotam, Achaz, and Chizkiyahu, kings of Yehudah.


This is what Yeshaiyahu the son of Amotz saw concerning Yehudah and Yerushalayim.


Thus said the LORD, Go, and buy a potter's earthen bottle, and [take] of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the Kohanim;


They were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants who heard all these words.

As it is written in the book of the words of Yeshaiyahu the prophet, *The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Make ready the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight.
