Then said the LORD to Moshe, *Behold, I will rain bread from the sky for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.


and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience will be made full.


And I wrote this very thing to you, so that, when I came, I wouldn't have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy would be shared by all of you.


For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not that you should be made sorry, but that you might know the love that I have so abundantly for you.


Therefore I beg you to confirm your love toward him.


how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.


Therefore show the proof of your love to them in front of the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf.

You shall remember all the way which the LORD your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his mitzvot, or not.


So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.


But you know the proof of him, that, as a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.


If any man doesn't obey our word in this letter, note that man, that you have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed.


Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.
