Shlomo made all the vessels that were in the house of the LORD: the golden altar, and the table whereupon the show bread was, of gold;
But if you tell me, We trust in the LORD our God; isn't that he whose high places and whose altars Chizkiyahu has taken away, and has said to Yehudah and to Yerushalayim, You shall worship before this altar in Yerushalayim?
He removed the high places, and broke the pillars, and cut down the Asherah: and he broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moshe had made; for to those days the children of Yisra'el did burn incense to it; and he called it Nechushtan 1.
They arose and took away the altars that were in Yerushalayim, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.
Now when all this was finished, all Yisra'el who were present went out to the cities of Yehudah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and hewed down the Asherim, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Yehudah and Binyamin, in Efrayim also and Menasheh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the children of Yisra'el returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.
Does not Chizkiyahu persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, the LORD our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Ashur?
Nevertheless the people sacrificed still in the high places, but only to the LORD their God.
Then he made an altar of brass, twenty cubits the length of it, and twenty cubits the breadth of it, and ten cubits the height of it.
But if you tell me, 'We trust in the LORD our God,' isn't that he whose high places and whose altars Chizkiyahu has taken away, and has said to Yehudah and to Yerushalayim, 'You shall worship before this altar?'*
