The children of Yisra'el again did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Pelishtim forty years.

So Midyan was subdued before the children of Yisra'el, and they lifted up their heads no more. The land had rest forty years in the days of Gid`on.
