Ya`akov called the name of the place Peni'el: for, he said, *I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.*


He said, *You cannot see my face, for man may not see me and live.*


with him will I speak mouth to mouth, even manifestly, and not in dark speeches; and the form of the LORD shall he see: why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moshe?


No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.


But now faith, hope, and love remain--these three. The greatest of these is love.


Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amein.


who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and eternal power. Amein.


By faith, he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.


But whoever keeps his word, God's love has most certainly been perfected in him. This is how we know that we are in him:


He who keeps his mitzvot remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.


We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.


If a man says, *I love God,* and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?


We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn't listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
