The king said also to Tzadok the Kohen, *Aren't you a seer? Return into the city in shalom, and your two sons with you, Achima`atz your son, and Yonatan the son of Avyatar.


Then said Chushai to Tzadok and to Avyatar the Kohanim, Thus and thus did Achitofel counsel Avshalom and the elders of Yisra'el; and thus and thus have I counseled.


Now Yonatan and Achima`atz were staying by `En-Rogel; and a female servant used to go and tell them; and they went and told king David: for they might not be seen to come into the city.


Avshalom's servants came to the woman to the house; and they said, Where are Achima`atz and Yonatan? The woman said to them, They have gone over the brook of water. When they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Yerushalayim.


Then said Achima`atz the son of Tzadok, Let me now run, and bear the king news, how that the LORD has avenged him of his enemies.


Then said Achima`atz the son of Tzadok yet again to Yo'av, But come what may, Please let me also run after the Kushite. Yo'av said, Why will you run, my son, seeing that you will have no reward for the news?


and Sheva was scribe; and Tzadok and Avyatar were Kohanim;


and Tzadok the son of Achituv, and Achimelekh the son of Avyatar, were Kohanim; and Serayah was scribe;


and let Tzadok the Kohen and Natan the prophet anoint him there king over Yisra'el; and blow you the shofar, and say, [Long] live king Shlomo.


and the king has sent with him Tzadok the Kohen, and Natan the prophet, and Benayah the son of Yehoiada, and the Kereti and the Peleti; and they have caused him to ride on the king's mule;


But Tzadok the Kohen, and Benayah the son of Yehoiada, and Natan the prophet, and Shim`i, and Re`i, and the mighty men who belonged to David, were not with Adoniyahu.


The king put Benayah the son of Yehoiada in his room over the army; and Tzadok the Kohen did the king put in the room of Avyatar.


and Tzadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father's house twenty-two captains.


David with Tzadok of the sons of El`azar, and Achimelekh of the sons of Itamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service.


Merayot became the father of Amaryah, and Amaryah became the father of Achituv,


and Achima`atz became the father of `Azaryah, and `Azaryah became the father of Yochanan,


`Azaryah the chief Kohen, of the house of Tzadok, answered him and said, Since [the people] began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have eaten and had enough, and have left plenty: for the LORD has blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.
