It was told king David, saying, the LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that pertains to him, because of the ark of God. David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom into the city of David with joy.
The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months: and the LORD blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he had.
Obed-Edom had sons: Shemayah the firstborn, Yehozavad the second, Yo'ach the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Netan'el 1 the fifth,
Also to Shemayah his son were sons born, who ruled over the house of their father; for they were mighty men of valor.
