Meshelemyah had sons: Zekharyah the firstborn, Yedi`a'el the second, Zevadyah the third, Yatni'el the fourth,
the son of Tachat, the son of Assir, the son of Avi'asaf, the son of Korach,
Of the Levites: Shemayah the son of Chashuv, the son of `Azrikam, the son of Chashavyah, of the sons of Merari;
He set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.
He appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the Kohanim to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise, and to minister before the Kohanim, as the duty of every day required; the doorkeepers also by their divisions at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.
Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house, and ministering in the house: they shall kill the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister to them.
