They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah


Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.

You shall break it in pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering.


But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him.


“Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.


And on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, “Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?”


for they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar from the people.”


So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the council and said, “What are we to do? For this man performs many signs.


Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.


And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people.
