After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”


“Go and tell my servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord: Would you build me a house to dwell in?


(This was the promise of the Lord that he gave to Jehu, “Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.” And so it came to pass.)


But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have waged great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed so much blood before me on the earth.


But Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, wrath has gone out against you from the Lord.


Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.


And when they had crucified him, they divided his garments among them by casting lots.


For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.


But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void.


Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’?


do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?


After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.”


“Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.


Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
