before I go—and I shall not return— to the land of darkness and deep shadow,
the land of gloom like thick darkness, like deep shadow without any order, where light is as thick darkness.”
You prevail forever against him, and he passes; you change his countenance, and send him away.

There is no gloom or deep darkness where evildoers may hide themselves.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.
And they do not lie with the mighty, the fallen from among the uncircumcised, who went down to Sheol with their weapons of war, whose swords were laid under their heads, and whose iniquities are upon their bones; for the terror of the mighty men was in the land of the living.
