When they were at the great stone that is in Gibeon, Amasa came to meet them. Now Joab was wearing a soldier’s garment, and over it was a belt with a sword in its sheath fastened on his thigh, and as he went forward it fell out.


If one is burdened with the blood of another, he will be a fugitive until death; let no one help him.


The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death.


When the native people saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.”
