“He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.


And you shall not take a woman as a rival wife to her sister, uncovering her nakedness while her sister is still alive.


So she said to her father, “Let this thing be done for me: leave me alone two months, that I may go up and down on the mountains and weep for my virginity, I and my companions.”


So it went on year by year. As often as she went up to the house of the Lord, she used to provoke her. Therefore Hannah wept and would not eat.


And Hannah prayed and said, “My heart exults in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.
