Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women,


Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites, on the mountain east of Jerusalem.


And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice


He put away the male cult prostitutes out of the land and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.


Did not Solomon king of Israel sin on account of such women? Among the many nations there was no king like him, and he was beloved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless, foreign women made even him to sin.


This city has aroused my anger and wrath, from the day it was built to this day, so that I will remove it from my sight
