The priest must bring that person and his sacrifices before the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent. [199] (This must be the same priest who announces that the person is clean. [200])
He must wash himself with the special water on the third day and again on the seventh day. If he does not do this, then he will remain unclean.
“Then a clean [262] person must sprinkle this water on the unclean [263] person on the third day and again on the seventh day. On the seventh day, that person becomes clean. He must wash his clothes in water. He will become clean in the evening.
“{I told you that every family of Israel must give their firstborn [31] son to me}—but now I am choosing the Levites to serve me. They will be mine. So all the other people of Israel will not have to give their firstborn sons to me.
“So make the Levite people pure. [130] And give them to the Lord. They will be like a wave offering. After you do this they can come and do their work at the Meeting Tent. [131]
So Moses, Aaron, and all the people of Israel obeyed the Lord. They did with the Levite people everything that the Lord commanded Moses.
After that, the Levite people came to the Meeting Tent [133] to do their work. Aaron and his sons watched them. They were responsible for the work of the Levite people. Aaron and his sons did the things that the Lord told Moses.
This is what you should do to make them pure. Sprinkle the special water from the sin offering [126] on them. This water will make them pure. Then they must shave their bodies and wash their clothes. This will make their bodies clean.
