Luke 22:49 - Easy To Read Version

The followers of Jesus were standing there too. They saw what was happening. The followers said to Jesus, “Lord, should we use our swords?”

When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

And when those who were around Him saw what was about to happen, they said, Lord, shall we strike with the sword?

And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

When those around him recognized what was about to happen, they said, “Lord, should we fight with our swords?”

Then those who were around him, realizing what was about to happen, said to him: "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?"

And they that were about him, seeing what would follow, said to him: Lord, shall we strike with the sword?

The followers said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords!”

But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you using the kiss \{of friendship\} to give the Son of Man {\cf2\super [361]} \{to his enemies\}?”

And one of the followers did use his sword. He cut off the right ear of the servant of the high priest. {\cf2\super [362]}
