John 13:6 - Easy To Read Version

Jesus came to Simon Peter. But Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, you should not wash my feet.”

Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

When He came to Simon Peter, [Peter] said to Him, Lord, are my feet to be washed by You? [Is it for You to wash my feet?]

So he cometh to Simon Peter. He saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

When Jesus came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

And then he came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to him, "Lord, would you wash my feet?"

He cometh therefore to Simon Peter. And Peter saith to him: Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

That person is the One who comes after me. I am not good enough to untie the strings on his shoes.”

Then Jesus poured water into a pitcher. He began to wash the followers’ feet. He dried their feet with the towel that was wrapped around his waist.

Jesus answered, “You don’t know what I am doing now. But later you will understand.”
