And he made in Jerusalem engines of diverse kinds, which he placed in the towers, and in the corners of the walls, to shoot arrows, and great stones. And his name went forth far abroad: for the Lord helped him, and had strengthened him.


And the ammonites gave gifts to Ozias: and his name was spread abroad even to the entrance of Egypt for his frequent victories.


But they going out, spread his fame abroad in all that country.


And the fame of him was spread forthwith into all the country of Galilee.


But he being gone out, began to publish and to blaze abroad the word: so that he could not openly go into the city, but was without in desert places: and they flocked to him from all sides.


Who answered him, saying: John the Baptist; but some Elias, and others as one of the prophets.


The same day, there came some of the Pharisees, saying to him: Depart, and get thee hence, for Herod hath a mind to kill thee.


NOW in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and Philip his brother tetrarch of Iturea, and the country of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilina;


And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judea, and throughout all the country round about.


But they answered, and said: John the Baptist; but some say Elias; and others say that one of the former prophets is risen again.


For from you was spread abroad the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia, and in Achaia, but also in every place, your faith which is towards God, is gone forth, so that we need not to speak any thing.


God also bearing them witness by signs, and wonders, and divers miracles, and distributions of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will.
