And Pharao said to him: Why, what is wanting to thee with me, that thou seekest to go to thy own country? But he answered: Nothing: yet I beseech thee to let me go.

But they said: Nothing. Then said he unto them: But now he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a scrip; and he that hath not, let him sell his coat, and buy a sword.


And he said to them: Take nothing for your journey; neither staff, nor scrip, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats.


As it is written: He that had much, had nothing over; and he that had little, had no want.


And fed thee in the wilderness with manna which thy fathers knew not. And after he had afflicted and proved thee, at the last he had mercy on thee.
