So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were going to marry his daughters. ‘Get up,’ he said. ‘Get out of this place, for the Lord is about to destroy the city! ’  But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.


When David looked up and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, with his drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem, David and the elders, covered in sackcloth,  fell face down.


‘Tell the community: Get away from the dwellings of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.’


He warned the community, ‘Get away now from the tents of these wicked men. Don’t touch anything that belongs to them,  or you will be swept away because of all their sins.’


Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the doorway of the tent of meeting. They fell face down, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them.


Going a little further,  he fell face down and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.’
