Then the disciples came up and asked him, ‘Why are you speaking to them in parables? ’
Then he left the crowds and went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, ‘Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.’
When he entered Capernaum again after some days, it was reported that he was at home.
Jesus entered a house, and the crowd gathered again so that they were not even able to eat.
When he was alone, those around him with the Twelve asked him about the parables.
He did not speak to them without a parable. Privately, however, he explained everything to his own disciples.
He said to them, ‘Are you also as lacking in understanding? Don’t you realise that nothing going into a person from the outside can defile him?
After he had gone into the house, his disciples asked him privately, ‘Why couldn’t we drive it out? ’
