Now when John heard in prison what the Christ was doing, he sent a message through his disciples


‘This is John the Baptist,’ he told his servants. ‘He has been raised from the dead, and that’s why miraculous powers are at work in him.’


When he heard that John had been arrested,  he withdrew into Galilee.


From then on Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, because the kingdom of heaven   has come near.’


Now Jesus began to go all over Galilee,  teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every  disease and sickness  among the people.

Herod added this to everything else #– #he locked up John in prison.


Afterwards he was travelling from one town and village to another,  preaching and telling the good news of the kingdom of God.  The Twelve were with him,


‘And now I know that none of you, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, will ever see me again.


After arranging a day with him, many came to him at his lodging. From dawn to dusk he expounded and testified about the kingdom of God. He tried to persuade them about Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets.

He came and proclaimed the good news  of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.
