Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You will listen and listen, but never understand; you will look and look, but never perceive.


He then rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down.  And the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him.


They were all speaking well of him  and were amazed by the gracious words that came from his mouth; yet they said, ‘Isn’t this Joseph’s son? ’


You pore over the Scriptures   because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me.


In this way God fulfilled what he had predicted through all the prophets #– #that his Messiah would suffer.
