How can a human be justified before God? How can one born of woman be pure?
The angel replied to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? ’
A ruler asked him, ‘Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life? ’
You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not bear false witness; honour your father and mother.’ ,
And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.
For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
