Then I thought, ‘My future  is lost, as well as my hope from the  Lord.’


Even when I cry out and plead for help, he blocks out my prayer.


Give to the one who asks you, and don’t turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.


For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds,   and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.


What father among you, if his son   asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish?


‘So   I say to you, ask,   and it will be given to you. Seek,   and you will find. Knock,   and the door will be opened to you.


Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray  always and not give up.


You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.


See, we count as blessed those who have endured.  You have heard of Job’s endurance  and have seen the outcome that the Lord brought about #– #the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
