For that night did not shut the doors of my mother’s womb, and hide sorrow from my eyes.


Let those who curse days condemn  it, those who are ready to rouse Leviathan.


But when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, darkness   came.


No one is ferocious enough to rouse Leviathan; who then can stand against me?


His snorting  flashes with light, while his eyes are like the rays  of dawn.


Give glory to the  Lord your God before he brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the mountains at dusk. You wait for light, but he brings darkest gloom and makes total darkness.


We hoped for peace, but there was nothing good; for a time of healing, but there was only terror.
