If any man inflicts a permanent injury on his neighbour, whatever he has done is to be done to him:
fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Whatever injury he inflicted on the person, the same is to be inflicted on him.
You are not to accept a ransom for the life of someone who is guilty of murder; he must be put to death.
Do not show pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot.
