When he was put outside, Pharaoh’s daughter adopted and brought him up as her own son.

and when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

Then when he was exposed [to perish], the daughter of Pharaoh rescued him and took him and reared him as her own son. [Exod. 2:5, 6, 10.]
