King Solomon put together a fleet of ships at Ezion-geber,  which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea in the land of Edom.


Then all the people of Judah took Azariah,  , who was sixteen years old, and made him king in place of his father Amaziah.


In the fifteenth year of Judah’s King Amaziah son of Joash, Jeroboam  son of Jehoash became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned for forty-one years.


At that time Aram’s King Rezin recovered Elath for Aram and expelled the Judahites from Elath.  Then the Arameans came to Elath, and they still live there today.


After Amaziah the king rested with his ancestors, Uzziah rebuilt Eloth  , and restored it to Judah.


At that time  Solomon went to Ezion-geber and to Eloth  on the seashore in the land of Edom.


‘So we bypassed our brothers, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. We turned away from the Arabah road and from Elath and Ezion-geber.  We travelled along the road to the Wilderness of Moab.
