‘In fact, God knows that when  you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’


She replied, ‘Please, may the king invoke the Lord your God, so that the avenger of blood will not increase the loss, and they will not eliminate my son! ’ ‘As the Lord lives,’ he vowed, ‘not a hair of your son will fall to the ground.’


Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God, because the Lord will not leave anyone unpunished who misuses his name.


And again he denied it with an oath:  ‘I don’t know the man! ’


He promised her with an  oath:  ‘Whatever you ask me I will give you, up to half my kingdom.’


As surely as the Lord lives who saves Israel, even if it is because of my son Jonathan, he must die! ’ Not one of the troops answered him.


Saul listened to Jonathan’s advice and swore an oath: ‘As surely as the Lord lives, David will not be killed.’


‘Who is it that you want me to bring up for you? ’ the woman asked. ‘Bring up Samuel for me,’ he answered.


But the woman said to him, ‘You surely know what Saul has done,  how he has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why are you setting a trap for me to get me killed? ’
