Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘You are responsible for my suffering!  I put my slave in your arms,  and when she saw that she was pregnant, I became contemptible to her. May the Lord judge between me and you.’


Then the Spirit enveloped  , Amasai,  chief of the Thirty, and he said: We are yours, David, we are with you, son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you, for your God helps you. So David received them and made them leaders of his troops.


‘ “Look, everyone who uses proverbs will quote this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’


For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies,   slander.


So you’ll recognise them by their fruit.


I have not sinned against you, but you are doing me wrong by fighting against me. Let the Lord who is the judge  decide today between the Israelites and the Ammonites.’
