‘Go to my servant David and say, “This is what the Lord says: Are you to build me a house to dwell in?


The temple’s construction used finished stones cut at the quarry so that no hammer, chisel, or any iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.


All of these buildings were of costly stones, cut to size and sawn with saws on the inner and outer surfaces, from foundation to coping and from the outside to the great courtyard.


So David gave orders to gather the resident foreigners that were in the land of Israel,  and he appointed stonecutters to cut finished stones for building God’s house.


but the word of the Lord came to me: “You have shed much blood and waged great wars. You are not to build a house for my name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before me.


Therefore the Lord God said: ‘Look, I have laid a stone  in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable.  ,
