Consider this: who is a faithful and prudent servant, who has been appointed by his lord over his family, to give them their portion in due time?


His lord said to him: 'Well done, good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful over a few things, I will appoint you over many things. Enter into the gladness of your lord.'

And he said to him: 'Well done, good servant. Since you have been faithful in a small matter, you will hold authority over ten cities.'


Now he said this, not out of concern for the needy, but because he was a thief and, since he held the purse, he used to carry what was put into it.


And when the meal had taken place, when the devil had now put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him,


And after the morsel, Satan entered into him. And Jesus said to him, "What you are going to do, do quickly."


He is faithful to the One who made him, just as Moses also was, with his entire house.
