For you have secured your people Israel for yourself, as an everlasting people. And you, O Lord God, have become their God.


And I will plant her for me in the land, and I will have mercy on her, though she had been called Without Mercy.


But I say: Has Israel not known? First, Moses says: "I will lead you into a rivalry with those who are not a nation; in the midst of a foolish nation, I will send you into wrath."


And just as you also, in times past, did not believe in God, but now you have obtained mercy because of their unbelief,


Now, concerning virgins, I have no commandment from the Lord. But I give counsel, as one who has obtained the mercy of the Lord, so as to be faithful.


though previously I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and contemptuous. But then I obtained the mercy of God. For I had been acting ignorantly, in unbelief.


Therefore, let us go forth with confidence toward the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy, and find grace, in a helpful time.
