He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute,\par\tab And hath not despised their prayer.


To hear the sighing of the prisoner;\par\tab To loose those that are appointed to death;


For he will stand at the right hand of the needy,\par\tab To save him from them that judge his soul.


Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy,\par\tab Now will I arise, saith Jehovah;\par\tab I will set him in the safety he panteth for.


Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God:\par\tab Depart from me therefore, ye bloodthirsty men.


Now consider this, ye that forget God,\par\tab Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:


For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah:\par\tab {\i Thou art} my trust from my youth.


He will judge the poor of the people,\par\tab He will save the children of the needy,\par\tab And will break in pieces the oppressor.


For he that maketh inquisition for blood remembereth them;\par\tab He forgetteth not the cry of the poor.


For surely there is a reward;\par\tab And thy hope shall not be cut off.


So shalt thou know wisdom to be unto thy soul;\par\tab If thou hast found it, then shall there be a reward,\par\tab And thy hope shall not be cut off.

Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world {\i to be} rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?
