{\b For the Chief Musician. {\i A Psalm} of David.}\par\par\tab In Jehovah do I take refuge:\par\tab How say ye to my soul,\par\tab Flee {\i as} a bird to your mountain;


Consider {\i and} answer me, O Jehovah my God:\par\tab Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the {\i sleep of} death;


But I have trusted in thy lovingkindness;\par\tab My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.


Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;\par\tab My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge;\par\tab My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.


For thou wilt light my lamp:\par\tab Jehovah my God will lighten my darkness.


O my God, in thee have I trusted,\par\tab Let me not be put to shame;\par\tab Let not mine enemies triumph over me.

My times are in thy hand:\par\tab Deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.


Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;\par\tab But he that trusteth in Jehovah, lovingkindness shall compass him about.


Then will I go unto the altar of God,\par\tab Unto God my exceeding joy;\par\tab And upon the harp will I praise thee, O God, my God.


He shall cry unto me, Thou art my Father,\par\tab My God, and the rock of my salvation.


Who is among you that feareth Jehovah, that obeyeth the voice of his servant? he that walketh in darkness, and hath no light, let him trust in the name of Jehovah, and rely upon his God.


O Jehovah, thou knowest; remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered reproach.


But Jehovah is with me as a mighty one {\i and} a terrible: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail; they shall be utterly put to shame, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which shall never be forgotten.


I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself {\i thus}, Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a calf unaccustomed {\i to the yoke}: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art Jehovah my God.


And I prayed unto Jehovah my God, and made confession, and said, Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments,

Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed Jehovah my God.


who through him are believers in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.


Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing unto a faithful Creator.\par
