Then the earth shook and trembled;\par\tab The foundations also of the mountains quaked\par\tab And were shaken, because he was wroth.


He maketh them also to skip like a calf;\par\tab Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox.


Surely every man walketh in a vain show;\par\tab Surely they are disquieted in vain:\par\tab He heapeth up {\i riches}, and knoweth not who shall gather them.


Why look ye askance, ye high mountains,\par\tab At the mountain which God hath desired for his abode?\par\tab Yea, Jehovah will dwell {\i in it} for ever.


And mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.


And all the people perceived the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the voice of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they trembled, and stood afar off.


The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
