He saith in his heart, I shall not be moved;\par\tab To all generations I shall not be in adversity.


But thou, O Jehovah, wilt laugh at them;\par\tab Thou wilt have all the nations in derision.


They encourage themselves in an evil purpose;\par\tab They commune of laying snares privily;\par\tab They say, Who will see them?


They search out iniquities;\par\tab We have accomplished, {\i say they}, a diligent search:\par\tab And the inward thought and the heart of every one is deep.


And they say, How doth God know?\par\tab And is there knowledge in the Most High?


And they say, Jehovah will not see,\par\tab Neither will the God of Jacob consider.


Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.


Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his chambers of imagery? for they say, Jehovah seeth us not; Jehovah hath forsaken the land.


Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wresting {\i of judgment}: for they say, Jehovah hath forsaken the land, and Jehovah seeth not.


And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now have their own doings beset them about; they are before my face.


But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,


Now when the Pharisee that had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him, that she is a sinner.
