Upon the wicked he will rain snares;\par\tab Fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.


He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High\par\tab Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.


Good understanding giveth favor;\par\tab But the way of the transgressor is hard.


He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; {\i But} he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.


The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns;\par\tab But the path of the upright is made a highway.


The highway of the upright is to depart from evil:\par\tab He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

know for a certainty that Jehovah your God will no more drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap unto you, and a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you.


We know that whosoever is begotten of God sinneth not; but he that was begotten of God keepeth himself, and the evil one toucheth him not.
