A fruitful land into a salt desert,\par\tab For the wickedness of them that dwell therein.


{\b A Psalm of Asaph.}\par\par\tab O God, the nations are come into thine inheritance;\par\tab Thy holy temple have they defiled;\par\tab They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.


For the palace shall be forsaken; the populous city shall be deserted; the hill and the watch-tower shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;


O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures for a spoil, {\i and} thy high places, because of sin, throughout all thy borders.


But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith Jehovah, that this house shall become a desolation.
