Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who knew not Joseph.


The hope of the righteous {\i shall be} gladness;\par\tab But the expectation of the wicked shall perish.


And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them; I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced because of all my labor; and this was my portion from all my labor.


Wherefore I saw that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him {\i back} to see what shall be after him?\par


For who knoweth what is good for man in {\i his} life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?\par


For all this I laid to my heart, even to explore all this: that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God; whether it be love or hatred, man knoweth it not; all is before them.\par


I said, I shall not see Jehovah, {\i even} Jehovah in the land of the living:\par\tab I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.


Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead that sought the young child's life.
