Do you fix your eyes on such a one? Do you bring me into judgment with you?
What are mortals, that they can be clean? Or those born of woman, that they can be righteous?
How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure?
‘Can mortals be righteous before God? Can humans be pure before their Maker?

Surely there is no one on earth so righteous as to do good without ever sinning.
For no human will be justified before him by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through the faith of Jesus Christ. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
