“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, much less this house that I have built!


Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his glory is above earth and heaven.


O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.


For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.


The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples.


Even the nations are like a drop from a bucket and are accounted as dust on the scales; see, he takes up the isles like fine dust.


All the nations are as nothing before him; they are accounted by him as less than nothing and emptiness.


It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them like a tent to live in,


Thus says the Lord: Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; so what kind of house could you build for me, what sort of place for me to rest?
